December 30, 2015

2015 was a whirlwind! The biggest change for me, and the most exciting, was the amazing family I gained in the form of two amazing kids and a crazy dog, whom I love to the end and back.

As usual, the year started off with a few snowstorms, but only one really, really big one with a sleepover at work (I finally got to put my air mattress to good use). But as the weather warmed up, so did everything else. From Mets games with friends, an impromptu trip to DC to see the Islanders and a season pass to Splish Splash to a fantastic trip to AC and DC and seeing my first dance competition and several Little League games, I can’t even pinpoint what my favorite time was!

And I can’t forget that I FINALLY MADE IT TO SEE THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON! After almost two years of trying, I finally got tickets and plan to hopefully go back this year. I also met Jason Segel at his book signing, and got a suite at the Coliseum (RIP) to see the New Kids on the Block for my birthday. I also finally got my well-deserved to raise. Though on the workfront, things are in flux as the company got sold. Fingers crossed things remain the same or get better, but I’m prepared for anything that comes my way.

There was also a scare for a bit, as my brother and his fiancée were in Nepal during a devastating and deadly earthquake. While there, though, as they witnessed the devastation, they took a negative and turned it into a positive as they managed to raise money to help those who housed them during the trying times.

I procrastinated a lot this year in my writing. In fact, I’m procrastinating right now! But, hey, I’m writing again and that’s all that matters. I did expand my TV recaps to include some interviews of celebrities, which was pretty cool.

I imagine 2016 will just get better and better, because, we’ve all had enough of downs and I only want good things moving forward. But as I said, I’m prepared for anything. So bring it.
