“I need friends too.”

A simple note with a phone number.  That was how it all started. Dave and I denied our feelings and that we were actually in a relationship for a while. We were both just looking for friends, and even though we’d known each other for a while at work, something about this time around just clicked. Perhaps it was just timing. Perhaps it was that we both just opened our eyes to see that what we were looking for was right in front of us.

Whatever it was, it got us here. Counting down to Sept. 9, 2018.

It took us months to say I love you, though we both knew we meant it much earlier. And it took us even longer for me to meet Ashley and David, his children. But I wouldn’t change anything we did for the world.

And while Dave will tell you he’s the lucky one to have found me. It seems like I’ve hit the jackpot too, because I not only have Dave, but I will have two wonderful stepchildren and a Jack the Dog.

We both can’t wait to say I do, continue working on our home on Noel Drive and spending the rest of our lives together.
